What are you already doing?

 

The instructor leading the session must be familiar with the equipment.

Regular inspection of the equipment;

  • before the first session of the day.
  • before the start of subsequent sessions.

Damaged or broken equipment should be reported.

The instructor leading the session must make participants aware of hazards.

The instructor to demonstrate how to throw the axe at the beginning of the session. Instructor to assist participants that are struggling with the task.

Range design including stand off position.

The instructor to demonstrate how to retrieve the axe at the beginning of the session. 

The instructor must explain the red and white foot barrier, no one will throw past that barrier.
